What is Online Therapy?
Online therapy, also known as e-therapy, e-counseling, tele-therapy or cyber-counseling, is a relatively new development in which a therapist or counselor provides advice and support over the Internet.
While I do not make any diagnosis, I do offer guidance and support to people experiencing problems in relationships, work, or life. E-therapy has limitations - we may occasionally get cut off, or the sound might not be as good as it could be - but it is quickly becoming an important resource for a growing number of people, and provides another channel for me to offer my services and help my clients wherever they are. Many people choose on line therapy or coaching because it is a convenient and very effective way to get help with whatever you may be struggling with in the privacy of your own home or office without the limitations of distance or location.
Online therapy or coaching is a great alternative if you can’t, or don’t want to travel, if you are living abroad and can’t find a local therapist, or if you don’t like the choices available in your area.
My online therapy (counselling) and coaching is modeled, as closely as possible, to in-person therapy (counselling). I adhere to the same professional ethics and standards of practice online as if we were meeting in my office, and you can expect the same level of care.
We can talk online via Skype and you can see me as if we were in the same room together. Most people find talking to me on Skype just as good an experience as meeting in-person.
